August Strindberg's A Dream Play (Ett drömspel, 1901) receives its first performance six years after it was written, at the Swedish Theatre (Stockholm), with his ex-wife Harriet Bosse in the leading rôle. Critics at the time noted that the demands of the play made it nearly impossible to mount a satisfactory production.
