can anybody recommend a good cheap (not Amazon) eBook reader? Preferable something that isn't tied to any one company for getting books. Something that can read epub for sure. cbz/cbr would be nice. Doesn't have to have WiFi unless it can do like samba sharing then that would be nice. It does have to be linux friendly.
I'm still using my old Sony PRS-T1 which I love, but I realize it's an old reader, and there probably are better one out now.

@kd8bxp@mastodon.radio I have a Kobo Forma. It works just fine with linux and calibre, seamless with pocket, supposed to work well with overdrive but I haven't tried it, does work okay with dropbox, and refurbished ones are $179.99 on Kobo's site.

@marvinfreeman I'm going to have to check that one out...
Looks like it supports a number of different formats.
My current eBook doesn't have a backlight, and isn't something I had considered either.
Thanks - for sure this is one to check on.

@marvinfreeman After looking at the Kobo website, I'm considering maybe the Kobo Clara 2E
Reviews on it are generally good, and it appears to be a newer device.
Thanks again for the recommendation
