Rarely do I find a book "hard going", but Gene Wolfe's "The Fifth Head of Cerberus" took several attempts to get started, and has taken a few months for me to finish. This was the third book I read (or in this case started to read) whilst on holiday, but I struggled to follow the plot. The remaining two stories are significantly easier, and more pleasant to follow, having a very clear narrative. I'll revisit this book after the Christmas period and read it again, hopefully getting more from it a second time around.
