Rik quoted Three Ordinary Girls by Tim Brady
There were still Dutch forces fighting in Zeeland, in the far northern corner of the country, but theirs was a lonely battle that would not last long.

Zeeland is in the southeast of the Netherlands, bordering with Belgium in the south. It's about 30 km (19 miles) from where I was born.
This book is quite highly rated, but it's currently very unlikely that I will finish it. It was gifted to me and the cover alone triggered me a little bit already. The writing style so far makes me doubt most of what I read. Probably unfairly so; it just constantly gives me a gut feeling that important nuances are left out as the storytelling is kept compact. Finding a snippet like the above does not help.
Anyway, it's fair enough to say that I didn't read enough of the book. I just don't feel like it.
