I read the individual volumes of this series only once before, and found them gripping and compelling. It can't have been too long after I started Fitz story.

On a reread now, I find a few more irritations, a few niggles that annoy me some. But even if things are a little oversimplistic politically and despite the shortcomings in terms, it's still a cracking world to lose yourself in for a few days.
