Same as the first book in the series, typical YA dystopian novel.
The prose stays the same, simple but good. The characterisation doesn't get better and actually find it particularly lacking for the male lead. I also feel the death was unnecessary and out of nowhere, definitely could have went over several chapters instead of two.
