A bit of an odd one for me, it's not a history, but an analysis of graves deducing things about the Viking people. Despite some great effort to tie it together into a narrative it was hard work for me at several points.

A mostly very good balance between solid archaeological science and accessibility. Sometimes the accessibility got too much of a hold in the form of unnecessary value judgements.
Sometimes it seemed to lose direction, and I found myself wondering why were examining a particular facet in detail, and what it was adding to our overall aim.
On the whole, very good.
