Yes Please is a 2014 book by American actress and television writer Amy Poehler. Poehler announced the book in January 2013. It was released on October 28, 2014, by HarperCollins imprint Dey Street, and was described as "full of humor and honesty and brimming with true stories, fictional anecdotes and life lessons" by the publisher.At the 58th Annual Grammy Awards, the audio version of Yes Please received nomination in the category for the Best Spoken Word Album.
mash-up between funny book and self help. she manages to talk a lot of her divorce without giving any specific details. so probably disappointing to many. not a fan of her self-help sections - essentially she is still in the throws of her maternal drive and it colours her world in wonderful, positive ways, but this is a temporary phenomenon. it was nice to be reminded of it.
Perhaps uncharacteristically, I think this book could have been better if it was 2x longer. She would have had to go deeper into the subjects she's discussing and it would have hopefully produced better stories. As is the book was okay, but nothing to write home about.
