This is probably a great book. It's well researched and cites sources. It also tries to be clear which parts are speculation. But I can't stand it any more.

I haven't studied this period since primary school, and the book is so keen to explain why the existing histories are wrong it trips over telling the actual story. I'm not really the wiser so far, and I can't get to the story without lengthy rants on how unfair it all is to Anne Boleyn.

Go read a different book first or even Wikipedia before this, it probably makes a lot more sense.

I also didn't particularly like the casual conversational voice of the book. That's a personal preference.
