The Big Picture

I had expected a very broad book about a lot of different stuff, like Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything. Instead, this book took me by positive surprise by explaining what science has to say about the big things in life. It's more a philosophy book than a science book, giving science a place in human life. I especially like the vocabulary of poetic naturalism, an idea that I already embraced but didn't know had a name.
