Very addictive and easy read, although unfortunately there's only so many ways you can have "child enrolled to a weird school" without hitting a lot of tropes. Not as grim as the Broken Empire, although similar. This one's got less sex and swearing, haven't checked if it's supposed to be Young Adult but it does start giving that vibe, despite the brutal violence throughout.
