The Naked Sun is a science fiction novel by American writer Isaac Asimov, the second in his Robot series. Like its predecessor, The Caves of Steel, this is a whodunit story. It was first published in book form in 1957 after being serialized in Astounding Science Fiction between October and December 1956.
Like City of Steel, I must have read this probably early 70's. Can't say I remember it at all. But I can say I really enjoyed this detective / SF / what if book. Yep, it can feel a bit 1950's in spots but that didn't bother me at all.
Isaac Asimov posits a future where children are educated to only interact with each other through electronic devices ("viewing") rather than face-to-face ("seeing"), leading to a society where people only see their partners and colleagues only at prearranged times.
