A very important read, particularly for anyone not yet part of the choir who still thinks conservation is an indulgent luxury we can do without. I have one or two minor criticisms - the chapter on the usefulness of the Biosphere 2 experiment differs quite dramatically from accounts I'd read previously and I felt that the chapter on nature and health confused correlation and causation a little (maybe people who live closer to green spaces are healthier because to be able to afford to live there they must be better off, rather than because of the green spaces themselves) but the rest of the book is an excellent read and spot on, and this is coming from the sort of sad bastard who checks these things.
