Aufgrund meines Hobbys und meinem fehlenden Wissen darüber, muss man sich auch mal mit Fachbücher befassen. Deswegen habe ich mir dieses hier zugelegt und angefangen, mich da einzuarbeiten.
It's safe to say that my archery has been pretty well down the toilet this year, compared to last year.
So instead of continuing to beat myself up for being a rubbish archer, I thought it might be worth spending a little time checking over my bow setup.
All the usual stuff was OK, brace height etc. So I busted out the big guns: the Beiter limb alignment gauges.
Sure enough my bottom limb was out of alignment by almost 1/8th inch.
A quick adjust of the limb pocket with two allen keys and all is well again.
This is why I don't shoot a traditional stick / string bow. There is more control over issues such as this one with a modern take-down / International Limb Fitting (ILF) design
It was still tipping down with rain this morning here on the 'sub-tropical' south coast.
So once again it was indoor target archery. 🏹
This was my second session after switching back to my carbon ACC arrows instead of my aluminium ones.
I came very close to equalling my personal best for the Portsmouth round. This was despite having to tune my pressure button settings due to my technique having changed significantly since the end of last year.
As usual, archery is a case of two steps forward, one to the side and one step back.
All in all I feel that I'm moving in the right direction.
I just need to shoot more often than I am doing at the moment.
It was tipping down with rain and was windy on the 'sub-tropical' south coast. I hadn't done any archery at all during the couple of weeks or so over the recent cold spell.
So, today it had to be indoor target archery.
I was the only person in the indoor range at around 09:00 this morning.
After doing my warm up exercises, I started of with a few dozen arrows of blind, blank boss shooting. Because the draw, expansion and release is all executed 'blind', it is a great technique for training the body how it should 'feel' when the techniques are executed. The mind is not pre-occupied with aiming at anything.
After that, I shot a 'Portsmouth' round: 5 dozen arrows on 60 cm target face at 20 yards. Considering that I hadn't done any shooting for over two weeks it went quite well.

I made a new personal best score for this round since I switched to bare-bow, but there were a few too many arrows straying out of the red.
My back muscles are aching, so I know I was using the right muscles.
I spent yesterday morning (25th December) down at the indoor archery range, along with a few other non-Xmas folk.
It was a good start to the day of the pagan feast.
One of the more enlightened club coaches was down there. They immediately observed a basic flaw in my technique which could be simply corrected - i.e. 'string picture'.
I immediately acted upon his suggestion and of course my shooting immediately fell apart as it does when one concentrates on a single aspect of shooting.
However, I persevered with their advice and abandoned scoring the round I was shooting. Within an hour, I was beginning to get nice tight arrow groups.
It was a really great morning spent with some nice people and Xmas free.
