I just ordered some grape vines for planting in our garden. The grower includes some notes in their parcel to help you take care of your new plants that you have no idea yet how to treat. Including this nugget:

"In the past it was traditional to bury a dead sheep in the planting hole for your grape to help it get the best start possible; for the purposes of this guidance we will assume a dead sheep is not available!"

I feel I'm in good hands with this nursery.

Steve Allely, Paul Comstock, Jim Hamm, Jay Massey, Tim Baker, Ron Hardcastle, John Strunk: Die Bibel des Traditionellen Bogenbaus (Hardcover, German language, 2005, Verlag Angelika Hörnig) No rating

A year ago, I saw someone open a book lamp in a bar. It was a pretty expensive product. Since I combine electronics and paper crafting, I had to DIY it and develop an easy-to-use circuit template and instructions for it. This educational project is perfect for libraries. Please :-)
Template and instructions are available on my website: https://www.voltpaperscissors.com/diybooklamp.

Special shoutout to the repair site iFixit who are now on the Fediverse, you can follow them at:

➡️ @iFixit

They provide repair forums and free repair guides for phones, computers, consoles, kitchen equipment, tools, medical devices, cars etc. They also review and tear down new gadgets to see how repairable they are.

Repairing your existing stuff is much, much better for the environment than buying replacements.

I’m preparing to offer for the first time next weekend and I’m really struggling with pricing. I wish they could be $15 a pop, but I wouldn’t be paying myself a living wage. Ollas are such a great environmental solution, I wish they could be as cheap as possible. Going the route (prefab terracotta pots & silicone) is the most cost effective but then you’re just buying cheap corporate products manufactured overseas. Artful only for those with $$ is a sad thing.

Ahoy friends, negative void time.
