The fourth Septimus Heap outing sees Sep and Jenna on a mission to rescue a family member. Sage seems to be becoming more assured as time goes on but weirdly this actually detracts from the main points in favour of her early works: her humour and her crazy leap-all-over-the-place plotting. This means that Queste is a fairly generic novel of kids on a magical adventure and a slight disappointment.
