And back to the Pterry catch-up, finishing this one takes me to the end of the Guards sequence.
This was, of course, an actual delight. It is about 'othering', making some group 'other' and then treating them worse. As topical today, what with BLM happening and transphobia running amuck under the guise of feminism, as it was when it was written.
Vimes remains one of the great characters and you can see why Pratchett wrote so many books from his point of view.
This is funny, droll, heartbreaking, thrilling and fulfilling.
Thoroughly recommended.
