Interesting, if difficult to follow.

Mixing the text with examples of artwork makes for a disjointed experience; at times, a page ends in the middle of a paragraph and then there are two or three pages of various artists' work before the text resumes. I found that made it difficult to really connect what I'd just read with the art I was seeing, or even come up with a strategy to change gears from reading the history to reading comics. The narrative nature of comics made it tough for me to return to a frequently disrupted history.
