The misadventures of a pretentious, provincial, racist jerk and his long-suffering wife as they travel around the world on bicycles. It's hilarious that he thought British cyclists in India would have heard of his world tour and his newspaper. He was such an ass that I laughed whenever he met misfortune (I was particularly amused when his pet monkey bit him and gnawed at his tires) and felt really sorry for his wife, whose recovery from various medical problems can only be inferred by the reader whenever their journey resumes.
