Review of 'The Last Emperox' on 'Goodreads'

5 stars

Yes, 5 stars. Not only for this book but for the series as a whole. I was always going to just devour this and I must say it did not disappoint. This series has been an absolute delight. Space Opera that didn't need lots of action sequences or huge pew-pew to keep the plot going. This was all told in a delightfully droll tone and as far as wrapping up a trilogy goes, this was spot on. In Kiva Lagos, Scalzi has written one of the all time great characters, every sequence involving her had me smiling inside. Strong social commentary too, but not heavy handed with it. Obviously recommended.
